I remember seeing a sex doll box when I was a younger man and the picture on the front was of a famous porn star, so of course I was intrigued, after seeing the full doll in a magazine I found out that it did not even come close to the picture on the box and I had a pretty good laugh. As you can see this doll's anatomy is terrible and it resembles a beach ball. I think anyone who paid 500 dollars for this thing would be upset.
Sex dolls have come a long way in the last few years with the dolls starting to look like actual women with the proper anatomy but a little bit on the uncanny valley side. Another example:
Quite the difference, I know. I really have a hard time looking at this and not seeing a doll, it really is quite life like and dare I say attractive. This type of model sells for around 6,000 dollars. Let's keep in mind that these two types of dolls don't do anything and you would have to manipulate them yourself. Then I guess you just throw them in the closet when you are done?

It seems to me that these things are eventually going to be fully functioning A.I. robots that can move around and talk to you and eventually move around on their own. I don't see normal people going out to buy one.
I think this sort of amusement would cater to some types of people who are afraid to leave their house, are very unattractive, or just really shy in general. I can't see a person who is married having this thing in the closet and ready to use when their wife isn't in the mood. These dolls are not just for the guys, and there are male versions for you ladies out there as well. Here's a pic:

If you can marry a sex doll then you should be able to marry a 2x4 or a bathtub or a car or even a toilet brush. Marrying an inanimate object is completely ridiculous an you probably should have your head examined for even suggesting such a stupid idea. This is my opinion on it.
I don't know what this world is coming to and this is probably only one of many bizarre events in this world. With the whole transgender movement and same sex couples getting married, I really try to keep an open mind. But it is getting harder and harder with all this really odd stuff constantly being revealed to us.
I don't think this will ever replace a real woman and god help us if it does. My wife constantly comes up with clever quips and comebacks and we have many good laughs together, we are best friends in all aspects of life and if she was just someone to have sex with I would have never married her in the first place.
Who knows, maybe she will eventually replace me with a:
