Who do you believe is an important person? The prime minister, The president, movie stars, famous people? Maybe its your neighbor or your boss. I think its all of us and that no one is any better than anyone else.
Have you ever been working with a group of people and when the boss comes around you see other people stand up straighter and work harder, but when the boss leaves they go back to their slow methodical way. Those people think that the boss is more important than themselves and try to impress by showing how hard they can work. Have you ever been around someone who constantly talks about how much smarter they are and have so much more stuff than the average person, always bragging about their latest purchase and will use any chance to rub it in your face? And then there is the person who looks down on everybody, to them the rest of us are not worth their time and they have given themselves a god like status.
These sorts of people need a reality check, you are not better than anyone else, we are all equal. If I were on a plane with all the presidents throughout time, and every billionaire, rock and movie star, my wife and my friends and the plane crashed in the ocean and I had the only life raft, who do you think I would save first? My wife, and my friends. Then I would try to save those other people.
We choose who is important to us, another person can't dictate to to me that their life is worth more than mine. If it was someone else in the life raft who thought they were the most important on that plane, they might just leave everybody in the water and save themselves.
If you believe that you are more important an someone else because you have more than them it makes you a worse person in my eyes.
