Young At Heart

My wife and I enjoy a little gaming when we have some down time together, we are in our 40s although my wife doesn't look it.  We are currently into games that expend a little energy as well, as in they make you sweat.  Some might say these games are for kids but I disagree, Games can expand the imagination and even sometimes teach you things you didn't know about yourself, games are for anyone who is young at heart, it doesn't matter how old you are.

I downloaded a virtual reality game called Astrobot,  you are a cute humanoid robot that must traverse levels saving his little friends that are scattered throughout the level, sometimes hidden from view.  My wife is in love with this tiny android and it's easy to see why, from the little noises he makes and the way he waves directly at you when he gets close it would be hard not to smile and appreciate the character that the programmers have made.

When you play virtual reality, you are in the game, it is not like looking at a tv screen at all. In VR, everything around you no matter where you turn your head or look is completely in another dimension and it's hard not to lose yourself when you are in it.  I love the game as well, it is very cleverly designed and when playing it you sometimes have to stand up or look straight down to find out where to go or to look for little lost robots to save.

Another game we have fallen in love with is the new beat saber game, also in virtual reality. This game makes you sweat so much you have to wipe the headset off afterwards with a rag. In this game you stand up and hold two very accurate light sabers, one red and one blue. Blocks of the same color of each saber come at you with arrows on them indicating where to strike them, they come at you with the very addicting beat of multiple songs that are extremely catchy and you find yourself humming the song long after you have stopped playing.

This game actually makes you exercise and enjoy yourself immensely while you are in it. Working out has never been so fun and enjoyable, it is fun and also extremely challenging especially in the later levels, but the better your physical motor skills are the better you will do and practice makes perfect, this game will make you want to practice all the time.

My wife and I played Beat Saber for about 5 hours the other night, taking turns and letting the other person rest while we tried to get past the levels, we each cheered the other person on as they finally beat a level we were stuck on.  You don't have to be a child to enjoy a cool video game, you just have be young at heart.
