Eye Of The Beholder

If someone owns a particularly ugly pet, such as a cat or dog, that owner has looked past the visual aspect of the animal and loves it for what it is, not for how it looks.  That person beholds that animal  and sees it in a way no other person does.

The same can be said about people, there are some truly attractive people out there, and we feel envious when we only gaze upon them, or we are speechless with the amount of visual beauty that appeals to our senses. Some of the truly gifted in the looks department have the ugliest inner beauty, and that far outweighs their outer looks unless you happen to be a very shallow person.

It is possible to be both beautiful and ugly at the same time and ugly will beat the beauty every time, when ugly refers to personality.  On the same token an ugly person with a truly beautiful soul and personality, will actually start to become less ugly the more you get to know them. The heart speaks volumes when you start to fall in love with another persons soul.

The first time you meet someone you might be attracted to them based solely on the way they look but after a few minutes of short conversation you will realize that the person that you were attracted to is ugly inside, and no amount of eye candy is going to change that. Most of us stay away from these types of people.

It's easy to say you love someone because of certain things, They treat you good, they love you back, they go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. Me, Me, Me,  That's all I hear with those statements. You rarely hear someone say they love someone despite certain things. They have a mole, are not very smart, are overweight.  The people that can love someone despite their flaws have seen something deeper in that person to fall in love with.

You are the beholder, and the eyes are yours, don't let someone else tell you what you should see.
