True Friends

Who do you call your bestest friend? Why is that person a true friend to you? I have met many people in my life and at first I would call them friends but shortly after they would disappear from my life and I really couldn't care less. I guess those people were more of acquaintances than friends which is all right too. On rare occasions I have met people with whom I click with very well, those people are still in my life after 20 plus years.  Why do you think that is?

People come and go in your life but only a select few are still around to this day. I think a true friend really enjoys being in your company, they think like you, and they consider you an equal. I also think a bad friend could have these qualities.  My interpretation of a bad friend is someone who doesn't challenge you when they think you are wrong, they agree with everything you say but don't stand up for you when you are not around and somebody else is running you down.  They don't show up to help when you have a project and they complain about how bad their life is with an expectation for you to help them or just just to hear "oh poor you".

A good friend shows up to help even if you don't need it, and is always asking if you have any projects on the go. They see that you are acting inappropriately and they tell you, even if they think you might be mad. They give good advice when they can but never cross that invisible line that both of you know but don't talk about. They can tell when you are upset by just looking at you and can read a "look"  from across the room that no one else sees. With these friends you will have a better laugh with and be able to cry on their shoulder while they pass no judgement.

I think you need to find tune who you call friends as you get older in life. Who is going to bring you up and who is going to pull you down.

The Unnerving similarity of the Universe and our Brain

I am not an astrophysicist, or a certified science officer or a medical physician,  I do, however, love the science of space, and the mysteries of the human body.  While browsing the web I have come across a very disturbing group of pictures that seem to be depicting something bizarre, and amazing at the same time.

This is a picture of the the universe:
It's a picture of stars and gases with bits of blue dark matter, and the bright spots being suns and the small while spots being stars.

This is a picture of neurons firing in the human brain:
The bright spots here are the neurons firing with the current traveling to other neurons in a firing pattern. ( I could be wrong about the exact neurological pattern but whatever.)

Is it just me, or are these pictures too similar to be just a coincidence? I'm not even sure what the implications would be. (But it's really cool anyway)

Enjoy the rest of your day:

Just My Opinion

Why is it that we need one person to represent our country?  And why is it that they always end up as some sort of sneaky underhanded greedy person that some people love but most hate?  Do we really need to have this one individual represent our country? Can we as a nation just vote on it ourselves? With everything online there would be no reason to have to drive anywhere to use a ballot box.  Yes, yes, the hacker thing, but didn't ballot boxes get hacked back in the day as well? Someone gets paid to miscount ballots in their division and then some assclown gets elected, it doesn't matter if it's paper or digital.

With the news being fake or misinterpreted it would be very hard to reliably vote based on fact because everyone's version of what is fact would be skewed. We need to change that first, we need to get the news and not some reporters opinion on what they think might be the cause.  No speculation just..the..facts.  Then we could reliably vote when we have the proper information.

I have been to other countries, I have seen how they live and how the government there treats their people. We have it pretty good over here,  but in my mind I don't care how messy my neighbors house is I care about how messy MY house is, it is, after all, where I live. (This is a metaphor people).

I have yet to see the day when the majority of this country's people cheer our government and are proud of it.  For this reason we need to change how it gets run. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result each time is the definition of insanity.  It's time to try something different.

What is wrong with people

I listen to the news more now than I ever did as a kid, and I know that the news is basically depressing but there is stuff happening in this world that I just cant wrap my mind around.
The guy who was on a bus and decided he was going to cut another persons head off.  This is not the worst of it though,  some bleeding heart psychiatrist or our judicial system decided that this guy needed help and stalled the trial so they could evaluate him. They concluded that this person was no threat as long as they stayed on their medication. So this head removing psychopath is walking free among us.  Does this make any logical sense to anybody?

This is like saying that you are a great human being as long as you don't consume alcohol, but if you did you would have on your hands a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde problem. You may get into your vehicle and drive headlong into traffic with a smile on your face. This head chopper guy choose not to take his medications,  full knowing of what kind of person he would become if he did, and he chose not to anyway.  How is this not his fault? We can't say to a judge that we get mentally handicapped when we drink and therefore shouldn't be guilty of our own actions. This decapitation artist gets a free pass though.  I just don't get the reasoning behind it.  Keep in mind that this is only one example of our ridiculous laws in this country.  If it were up to me I would use this guy as a test subject for the harmful effects of exhaust fumes, at least then he would have some use.

Grrrrrr.

Your Car's Mad Button

I get mad while I'm driving on occasion, I'm guessing so do most people, but what do you do about it? I have given my share of middle fingers and I have received some as well. I have to be extremely upset to do that though. I do try to courteous on the road, I let people in when they signal, I wave if someone does the same for me and I'd like to think that my small actions has made someone else's day a little brighter.

Then there is the people that have to use their horn for every occasion. It's like having a mad button in your vehicle. Hey that guy is walking too slow, Hit the Mad Button, That biker is over too far, hit the Mad Button, this guy in front of me isn't going when the light is green, hit the Mad Button.  I can tell you when somebody Mad Buttons me I call tell you right now I am severely pissed off and I continue to drive angry for at least a half an hour afterwards.  I Hate the Mad Button with a passion.

I hate it so much I refuse to use it. I will not honk my horn for any reason. If I am angry at someone else I keep it contained to my vehicle because it's kind of like the opposite of pay it forward. If it makes me so angry for such a long time afterwards I imagine other people could be the same or worse if I Mad button them. I do not want to spread that kind of negative energy to other drivers or people for that matter. When you drive angry you tend to speed more, weave in and out of traffic and generally drive a lot more dangerously. Our streets are dangerous enough,  we don't need more of it out there. So the next time you think you might like to use your Mad Button,  Don't,  and maybe someones life would be a wee bit better or it might actually save a life too.

A Beautiful Super Power

Have you ever met someone that was so good looking that you couldn't form a sentence? Have you ever seen someone so attractive that you were scared to go introduce yourself?  I'm a logical thinker and people are just people like you and me but I have actually been scared to approach someone "Out of my league". I hate that phrase, but it is true nonetheless. These types of people know that they have above average looks, and it shows with the way they dress and carry themselves. I don't look at myself as this type of person, I think I'm average. If I was this type of person, I wonder how I could influence other people with that superpower.

It is a superpower, if you don't believe me just watch as a beautiful woman has men flocking to her offering to buy her whatever her heart desires, she could literally ask for anything. How about an incredibly handsome man at a bar, and women throwing themselves at him telling him how they would show him the best night of his life. And its not just the opposite sex that these people draw, its other guys who want to be around the handsome dude, to see if the ladies he rejects would talk to them as well. I sure the females work in much the same way.

Extremely attractive people get more doors open for them,  and more perks in life. I think this could also be a bit of a curse as well. Imagine if you couldn't really trust anyone because they always wanted something from you? I also imagine that growing up people always told you how pretty or handsome you were, and after hearing it your whole life you would really begin to hate it. I got told I was funny...a lot, after a while I began to really dislike being told I was funny. I can see where these people would feel the same. I did accept the funny comment as I grew and I never became mean if it ever bothered me. Some people who are very attractive develop a "I'm better than you" opinion of themselves and that makes them very ugly. On the other side some very attractive people are so nice it would be a shame to have never met them.

That's my blog for today Hope you liked it. (In a hurry a didn't proof read sorry)

"I'm Sorry"

Is it just me or does the word sorry not mean anything? I guess it's better than not saying anything at all, like if you were walking down a street and someone bumped you and they just continued on like you were in their way, Most people will say "Oh sorry." But they should say "oh excuse me." That kind of sorry I can understand anyway, its simple, an accident. The type of sorry I really can't stand is when you catch someone doing something they shouldn't be doing, and saying sorry is just their way of getting you to stop bringing it up.

Example:You have a roommate, and they drink all your booze while you are working, you come home and find it all gone, their response is: "Oh sorry."  Your significant other is supposed to pick you up at a certain time but totally forgets. "I'm Sorry". I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the point.

I am tired of the sorry excuse,  I would definitely like it more if there was some actual remorse and a genuine guilt that was tied to the sorry that was given and the person actually tried to not let it happen again. For that reason, I hold my sorry in reserve and only use it when I truly am sorry about something. I watched a T.V. show a while ago called Elementary, and in one episode someone had said "I'm sorry" to Sherlock Holmes , and his response was "Don't be sorry, be better."  That statement really stuck with me. Be better.

I know I can't change anyone, but maybe I can inspire them to, "be better."

That's my ramble for this evening.
